Interviews with Laura Shanley

Television host Bob Berkowitz initially contacted me after reading my article Milkmen: Fathers who Breastfeed. Bob was intrigued by the fact that my husband David had produced milk after giving himself suggestions that he would lactate. As I wrote in the article, David never actually nursed any of our children. The lactation was an experiment (albeit a strange one!) in the power of the mind. A week or two after the lactation began, David said belief suggestions that it would stop and it did.

As Bob and I talked and I told him of my true passion - unassisted childbirth, he realized that would make for a more interesting interview. Several months later, I appeared on Bob's show, "Naked New York."
